I have been both a macOS and Windows 10 user for the past few years. And one of the simplest features of macOS must be Get Spotlight. It’s a system-wide search feature that lets you easily view files, folders, settings, and more on your PC. There are rumors that Windows 10 may now get similar features in May this year.
such as Edge, Microsoft has worked hard to create a spot-like launcher to replace the current Win + R shortcut. The latter is limited functionality and capabilities Nowadays users want quick and easy access to files and features. The Win + R shortcut isn’t really accessible to casual users – who don’t know all the commands.
However, the new launcher will make it easier for users to search for apps and files across Windows 10. The company has recently revisited this much-loved feature of the past and it could come as a power lance. Power Toys Github, To replace Win + R.
Windows 10 to Get Spotlight-like Launcher in May This Year
Microsoft will provide a modern smooth design UI, something close to the current search functionality that has already been baked in Windows 10. The company plans to customize it using the plugin. In addition, Microsoft PowerToS lead Clint Rutcas shared a survey on Twitter earlier this week, asking users to help name new launchers.
