File Explorer on Windows 11 is set to become more faster

Microsoft’s latest preview update, known as Windows 11 Build 22526. Apparently comes with a new change that will improve the performance of File Explorer on Windows 11. The last major Windows update solved a major problem for PCs, including the AMD Raizen CPU. And Microsoft now plans to optimize File Explorer’s search tool.

File Explorer Search uses Windows Search to create an index and provide users with faster file searches. The same indicator is used by other features of the operating system, including Cortana Assistant. By default, Windows indexes important locations, such as the “Start Menu” folder and the “Users” folder. So that it can return your apps or downloads to search results.

Sometimes, finding specific files using the search box in File Explorer can be particularly difficult. Even if it uses the same search engine that powers your Start Menu or Windows search queries.

Starting with Windows 11 Build 22526, File Explorer will be able to index the location of more files. In other words, users will be able to quickly find important files and the overall experience is going to be faster.

At the moment, we do not have a list of new locations suggested by Explorer. If you want to remove new locations from the index, just go to Windows Search Settings. And exclude locations containing large or complex files.

As part of an effort to improve overall system performance. Microsoft Explorer.exe has done some things to reduce crashes when you use the search box. The update fixes a problem where some users encounter problems. While using Explorer and their PC performance slows down.

Other modifications to the recent preview build:

  • Microsoft is resolving issues in the context menu of File Explorer.
  • The right-click menu should open a bit faster now, but the overall experience is still buggy.
  • Microsoft has added a new group policy that will enable Office.com integration to be discontinued. Once deactivated, Explorer will stop including files from Office.com and Explorer will also stop requesting a connection to Office.
  • This change also affects the Windows 11 Start menu from displaying online office documents.
