Microsoft recently made an announcement ‘News and Interests’ taskbar widget for Windows 10. Although the feature was not widely available before, it is now available Windows Insider extends beta and preview ring release. This indicates that a stable launch is imminent. If you’re out of the loop, News & Interests is an upcoming Windows 10 feature that displays a variety of information in the taskbar, including news, cricket scores, traffic updates, and weather. Here’s how it looks:

Follow these steps to deactivate the widget in the Windows 10 taskbar right now:
1. Right-click anywhere in the taskbar, and you’ll see a list of the following options. If you have access to the ‘News and Interests’ feature, you’ll notice one New alternative titled ‘News and Interests’ Here. Click or hover your mouse pointer to see the extended set of options.
2. You can use three options to customize this feature. You can choose to see icons and text, just the weather icon, or disable the News & Interest widget completely. And, you have the option to pop up the widget when you click on it.
3. If you do not want the widget to take up so much space in your taskbar, you can simply select the icon. Choose the ‘Show only icon’ option to see only one weather icon. Here’s what it looks like when you enable icon mode only:
4. You can do alternatively Choose the ‘Close’ option to disable news and interest widgets completely. As you can see below, the news and interest section will no longer appear after you deactivate it in the Windows 10 taskbar.
