Microsoft wants to make Windows 11 updates less disruptive

In the preview build, Microsoft has added a new Windows Update feature to Windows 11 called “Update Stack Package”. Windows 11 updates less disruptive. Microsoft did not provide detailed information on how these stack update packages work. But it could make the operating system more modular. Using features such as the “Update Stack Package” and the “Experience Pack”. Microsoft may add features or improvements to specific Windows features outside of regular OS updates.

“Windows Update Stack Packages” will be automatically installed outside of the general preview. Or security release and users will notice its presence when checking for updates. Today, Microsoft has released a new version of the stack package with version 822.124.211.0 and it does not come with new features. And Microsoft has previously stated that the feature will help ensure that your PC stays stable.

At the moment, the update stack package is limited to a small set of update-related improvements. But you can expect additional improvements in future releases. For now, Microsoft only wants to examine minor update-related system files outside of major Windows releases.

Update stack packages are distributed through Windows Update as well as incremental updates. In other words, you will find these stack packages in Settings> Windows Update.

In addition to the Windows Update Stack package and other changes to Windows Update. The next feature update of Windows 11 also packs a normal portion of new features and enhancements. For example, the Settings app has been updated to offer more options for managing Windows updates than you normally find in Control Panel.

At the moment, if you want to uninstall updates, you need to browse the Windows Update page in the Control Panel. Which is a part of Windows from Windows 1.0. With Windows 11 22H2 aka Sun Valley 2. Microsoft has finally moved the “Uninstall Windows Update” feature to the Settings app.

As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows 11’s upcoming “Uninstall Update” feature isn’t as extensive as the control panel and features. Like filters or columns are missing, but Microsoft has promised improvements in future releases.
