Windows 11 Build 22523 has been released for testers on the Dave Channel and this is the last update of 2021. Unlike previous updates that included a number of new features. Today’s update is about improving the quality of File Explorer, settings, and other areas.
The patch is called “Windows 11 Insider Preview 22523 (rs_prerelease)” and will be installed. Just like any other update in the Windows Insider program. To install the update on Windows 11, simply go to Windows Settings. And manually check for updates by selecting the “Check for updates” button.
To try out the new enhancements, you’ll need to join the Dave Channel. Which offers features and changes as you prepare without extended internal testing. What’s new in Windows 11 Build 22523?
Microsoft is adding support for ALT + TAB and Snap Groups in Task View. This will be similar to the app previews that appear when you hover. Over open apps in the taskbar and you see them there. After the update, you’ll be able to see ALT + TAB and apps snapped in the task view.

An important change to build 22523 is the improvement of Windows settings. With this ongoing removal of features from the Control Panel, Microsoft is moving the “Programs and Features” page to the Settings.
